TRADITION
Domaine Mathelin is located just a few kilometres from Épernay, in the small village of Cerseuil. For nine generations, our family has cultivated its vineyards exclusively on the slopes of the Flagot Valley.
These privileged conditions give true meaning to the word “terroir” and provide our Champagnes with their distinctive and unique character.
Today, Cédric and Aurélien manage the 13.5-hectare estate, where the three principal Champagne grape varieties are grown: Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
AUTHENTICITY
Every stage in the production of our wines takes place at our family estate. To achieve uncompromising quality, we combine modern winemaking techniques with respect for traditional Champagne methods.

HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL VALUE
HVE Certification since 2014 (Level 3)
Since 2014, our estate has been certified “Haute Valeur Environnementale” (HVE) Level 3.
This demanding and costly commitment involves:
reducing the use of agricultural inputs as much as possible, even though this means taking additional risks;
maintaining permanent ground cover in our vineyards, despite the resulting reduction in yields;
collecting rainwater and wastewater, which requires substantial investment;
encouraging biodiversity by planting hedges and trees and creating stone walls and shelters for wildlife – a process requiring considerable time and dedication;
limiting the use of motorised machinery as much as possible to reduce pollution and favouring manual work instead, despite its higher cost;
using lightweight bottles and recycled materials for our packaging, including boxes and bottle dressings.

100% TRACEABILITY
We sell exclusively from our own harvest, allowing us to guarantee 100% traceability throughout our production.
Every stage of our winemaking also takes place directly at the family estate, including pressing, vinification and ageing in our cellars.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
We do everything within our power to minimise our impact on the planet.
Every decision is carefully considered with the aim of reducing its impact on nature as much as possible.
