THE HOUSE OF DE VILLEPIN: TERROIR AS IT ONCE WAS
Discover a Champagne house deeply respectful of its terroir.
Near Reims, our house cultivates its vineyards in Boursault, on the slopes of the Marne Valley close to Épernay.
For many years, we have been committed to sustainable viticulture, beginning by introducing complete natural ground cover in our first vineyards.
Over time, a wide variety of plants naturally appeared on our slopes. We chose to give nature the space it deserves and to respect our vines as much as possible. Thanks to this traditional approach, our vineyards are now home to a remarkable diversity of plants, including nettles, thistles, mint and wild strawberries.

WHY DO WE CULTIVATE OUR VINEYARDS THIS WAY?
Every plant contributes in its own way to our Champagne. Some attract pollinating insects, others naturally help regulate populations that could threaten our vines, while certain plants encourage rainwater to penetrate the soil.
We believe that sustainable viticulture in Champagne is one of the strongest commitments we can make for the future.
Convinced of the importance of today’s environmental challenges, our house began its conversion to organic farming in 2021 and obtained organic certification in 2024. Thanks to its biodiversity, our soil now benefits from an exceptionally rich and vibrant ecosystem.
For this reason, our Champagne reflects the very best of our terroir. Each bottle offers a unique experience, perfect for a wedding or any other special celebration.
CHAMPAGNE DE VILLEPIN: OUR METHOD
Our objective is simple: to showcase the very best of what our vineyards give us each year, principally Chardonnay and Meunier.
Our Champagnes are aged on the lees and then on fine lees, contributing to their delicate, refined and subtle character.
Our Champagne is not filtered, allowing it to retain its full substance and develop significantly greater ageing potential. Once bottled, it is aged for a minimum of two to three years and then rests for a further year in our cellars after disgorgement.
For several years now, part of our wines has also been vinified in barrels or without malolactic fermentation, laying the foundations for new future cuvées.
